Pneumatic Controls
Pneumatic controls refer to a type of control system that uses compressed air or gas as the working medium to transmit signals and activate control devices. Pneumatic control systems components consist of signal transmitters, control devices, air or gas supply, and pneumatic tubing.
We offer:
- Actuators
- Cylinders
- Motors
- Pressure sensors
- Pressure switches
- Compressors
- Air pilot solenoid valves
- Air pilot ball & needle valves
- Control valves
- Bleed and relief valves
- Reservoirs and storage
These components work together to measure a specific process variable and convert it into a proportional change in air pressure. The change in air pressure signal is transmitted through pneumatic tubing to the pneumatic control valve, then the valve will respond to the change in air pressure by adjusting its position.
If the pressure signal increases, the valve may open further to allow more air to flow to the process equipment, but if the pressure signal decreases, the valve may close partially to reduce the process variable. Pneumatic control systems are known for their reliability in harsh industrial environments, but may have slower response times compared to electronic systems.
