The retail counter associate is a direct connection to our customer. This role is to serve our customer in what ever capacity necessary to earn and keep loyal customers. Working in a retail store setting and servicing walk-in customers, this person will identify hose and connector problems, solve and fabricate fluid conveyance solutions in a prompt and courteous manner. This position encompasses all aspects of retail work including inventory management, product knowledge, customer service, order processing, store layout and appearance, and growing the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Service customers at the counter by taking orders and entering them into the system accurately.
  • Quickly and efficiently identify hose and fittings and fabricate hose assemblies to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Follow company pricing and credit guidelines
  • Solve or find someone to quickly solve customers’ problems
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sales items as well as new products
  • Keep merchandising and counter areas clean and attractive
  • Keep counter area inventory stocked; remove or add inventory items to stimulate impulse sales; remove discontinued items from the sales floor
  • Work with other departments to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner
  • Light warehouse duties as assigned
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Attend product training meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education:

High school diploma/GED required

Experience:

  • 2 years in similar position preferred
  • Product/applications experience preferred
  • Wholesale distribution experience preferred
  • Mechanical background preferred
  • 1-3 years prior retail sales experience preferably in hardware, auto parts or industrial products is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of fluid power preferred

Industrial Distribution, Field Sales Executive

Omni Services is the Northeast's leading independent distributor of fluid conveyance solutions for industrial MRO and OEM customers. Headquartered in Worcester, MA, the company is in a growth mode and has a well-established presence in the Northeast. We are looking to add a dynamic sales professional to accelerate our growth in the Southern, ME area, a high opportunity territory.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Seek out, target and initiate contact with multiple prospective custmers. Qualify/assess and close potential customers.
  • Achieve agreed sales and margin objectives by building partnering relationships with key decision-makers within key/target accounts and applying Omni best sales practices
  • Understand, apply and leverage Omni's unique selling system
  • Actively listen, probe and identify customer concerns. Understand customer's business operation objectives, hot buttons and unique company language. Establish Omni value proposition in customer context
  • Recommend fluid conveyance solutions linked to customer objectives which offer total value and competitive advantage
  • Frequently create and present business proposals for new business, address resistance and close the sales
  • Demonstrate technical expertise and maintain high levels of credibility and likeability at all key levels/contacts within accounts
  • Constantly identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts including but not limited to hydraulic, Teflon, metal and industrial hoses and also bent tubing and instrumentation solutions, where appropriate
  • Act as customer's advocate internally within Omni to ensure customer satisfaction/loyalty
  • Follow company pricing and credit guidelines
  • Utilize applicable sales tools effectively (Sales Logix CRM, 5 Offense, voicemail systems, etc.)
  • Lead Omni operational staff (Inside Sales, Operations) in building account team relationships to ensure customer satisfaction/loyalty
  • Attend monthly Sales/Business Meetings
  • Develop/update annual and monthly individual sales forecasts aligned with Sales Management objectives
  • keep management informed of key account progress/status
  • Participate in company-sponsored trade shows as required
  • Perform other job duties as required by management
  • Follow company policies and procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: High School diploma/GED required. Associates degree or equivalent preferred. Bachelor's Degree a plus
  • Experience: 3+ years in similar Industrial Distribution Sales preferred
  • Valid Drivers License

Desirable Skills

Helpful Skills: mechanical aptitude and/or working knowledge of basic engineering applications and industrial hydraulics
